Occupational Groups

If you are the Mom or Dad of a child with developmental challenges, then you know how painful it feels to watch your child struggle through activities that other kids seem to master with ease. Perhaps you have pulled out the paper and crayons, scissors and glue, hoping to inspire creativity... but ultimately inciting frustration. You wonder:

  • Why isn't my child progressing at the same rate as "normal" children?
  • What happens when my child's classmates are writing and painting with ease, but my little guy or girl is left behind?
  • What if my child is unable to keep him or herself from harm's way due to an inability to accurately assess the situation or perceive danger or pain?

Our Occupational Therapy Group curriculum is designed to improve your child's fine motor skills and coordination. This form of therapy is especially effective for children with SID (Sensory Integration Disorder), although the various classes we offer can be beneficial to any child who can use improvement in this area.

We encourage you to be a positive influence on your child's development by taking the skills he or she learns here and practicing them on a regular basis at home. You are welcome to sit in for as many of the occupational group sessions as you like, so that you can get an intimate look at our approach to learning and the types of activities that will help your child progress and grow.
