Music Therapy
“Music Therapy is an established healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals of all ages” (www.musictherapy.org).
Children with developmental delay are frequently more anxious, distractible, upset by changes in routine or unexpected events, over-stimulated, and emotional. In the same way most people enjoy listening to, singing along with, and moving to music for relaxation, stimulation and emotional expression, studies have shown that Music Therapy is very beneficial to children with various neurological and behavioral issues.
If you are searching for ways to provide a creative escape, soothing activity and creative way for your child to channel his or her energy while engaging in a positive sensory experience, then do add music time to his routine at home. The Growing Together Therapeutic Center offers an inspiring Music Therapy program that can be the basis of your music integration. This is a popular class that fills up quickly, so grab your spot if you'd like to enroll for the upcoming season.
